"Disgraced" is an intense and powerful study of America. Ayad Akhtar, author of the successful novel American Dervish (still on my TBR pile), is a Pakistani-American novelist and playwright whose 2013 play Disgraced has been a hit on the stage. A one-act play comprising four scenes, Disgraced opens with a married couple in their Upper East Side apartment.
